Today, the development of sustainable materials has become a focus in the world. Many countries and industries have begun to seek new opportunities for circular economy. They have been trying to think outside of box, and redesign production formulas/processes and business models in an attempt to reduce waste and extend life cycles of products.
PMMA is one of the very few plastics that can be chemically de-polymerized and purified to produce a virgin quality monomer (MMA). Currently in Taiwan, the technology of converting PMMA waste into MMA still needs to be further developed and upgraded in order to ensure the quality and consistency of the monomer as well as to reduce energy consumption and environmental impacts.
In the face of global market competition, in order to consolidate their positions in the acrylic industry, Taiwan’s acrylic manufacturers should not only focus on quality, price and delivery of their products, but also follow the global green trend and devote themselves to industrial upgrading and reconstruction by promoting the concept of circular economy and becoming truly GREEN suppliers.
